Engineering workspace · new in MRO Tracker 2.2

Your technical services desk, in the same system as the hangar.

Mechanics ask from the task card. Engineers answer with a disposition and the approved data behind it. Repairs and alterations, engineering orders, the technical library and the inspection program live next to the aircraft records they change.

For the engineering and technical services teams of Part 135, 145 and 91K operators and repair stations.

From the shop floor to an answer

One request, start to finish

No more questions lost in email or on a sticky note in the hangar. Every request has a number, a due time, a conversation and an answer that goes back to the job.

Ask

"Ask engineering" on any task card or work order fills in the aircraft, the card and the photos. Requests can also come straight from the Engineering workspace or the Admin and Mechanic flavors of the app.

Prioritize

AOG requests are due in 4 hours, urgent in 1 day, routine in 5 days. Engineers get an email, text or push; late requests are escalated.

Answer

A disposition with the approved data it rests on: approved repair, use as is, replace, refer to the manufacturer, not approved, or information only.

Close the loop

The answer shows on the task card and work order, the requester is notified, and the request stays on the aircraft's record for audits.

Engineering orders

Engineering orders and work instructions with signed revisions. Publish one as a task card template and the shop works from the approved version.

Damage map

Dents, cracks and repairs marked on a diagram of the aircraft, with the layout picked from its model and photos from the phone camera, so everyone sees the same history.

Technical library

Manuals and documents up to 100 MB with revisions and read-and-acknowledge, so you know who has read the latest revision. Documents link to Files.

Configuration status

The configuration of each aircraft in one place, so engineering, planning and the shop work from the same picture.

Inspection program

Program changes with the manufacturer's tasks mapped to your own task card templates, reviewed and approved before they reach Maintenance Due.

Interchangeability

Engineering-approved alternate parts, shared with Stores and shown on each part with what's on hand.

AD / SB review

New ADs every day, read by AI with the service bulletins they cite, and an applicability review queue by aircraft, engine and propeller.

Reliability

Defects per 100 flight hours by aircraft and by ATA chapter against the previous period, alert levels, repeat defects and component removals by part number.

Engineering Home

What needs the desk today

  • Open requests, AOG first, with the ones past due
  • Alterations in work and those waiting for approved data
  • Engineering orders waiting for a check or a signature
  • Documents to read after a new revision
  • Inspection program changes waiting for approval
  • ADs to review and repeat defects to look at
The Maintenance overview on Home shows Engineering requests too, so the hangar sees AOG and late answers without switching workspaces.

Engineering in your pocket

The Admin and Mechanic flavors of the MRO Tracker mobile app, coming soon for iPhone, iPad and Android, carry Engineering with them: raise a request with camera photos, mark the damage diagram, open the library with its files, check engineering orders and see the Home tiles.

See Engineering with your own aircraft

We set up a demo organization with your fleet and walk your engineers and inspectors through a real request, an alteration and an engineering order.
